You can build your own rotisserie for "MUCH" less than buying a factory made rotisserie. How much less you ask? How about $ 250.00 verses $ 800.00 or more!, (approx., may be somewhat higher now, depending on your material costs. I restored mine in the late 90's). This is just more money you keep for investing in your Stang! And believe me when I say it makes life "MUCH" easier and your restoration "MUCH" better quality!
"All you need is access to a welder".
What is a rotisserie restoration?
A rotisserie is a "must" for those involved in auto restoration.
This tool makes the difference between a so-so resto and an "excellent quality resto that will last"!
This includes when you are painting the underside and engine bay, welding the underside of floor pans, or even media blasting and more.
The rotisserie provides 360-degree access to your car's body in much the same way a chicken rotisserie allows 360-degree access for basting and baking in an oven.
With a rotisserie, you will never have to get dirt in your eyes again
while working under the car,no overhead welding and painting.
You may have heard of a rotisserie for cars referred to as a rotary car lift, auto body
rotisserie, or even a twirler. Whatever the name, they are a must for anyone restoring a
vehicle body or frame. By lifting the car up and allowing you to twirl the car around a
full 360 degrees, a rotisserie provides easy access to all parts of a car's body or frame.
The benefits of a rotisserie are hard to ignore. Since rotisserie lifts eliminate the need
for supporting a car on a jack and crawling underneath the car to work on it,
it offers safety and eliminates many hazards. You can work on your car at a level that is
comfortable for you, "like standing on your feet instead of laying on your back"!
Most rotisserie guides use hydraulic rams, but these cost around $160.00 a pair.
My guide uses other, less costly means to lift. Finally, when caster wheels are attached
to the rotisserie, it makes it easy to move in your garage--both with and without a car
mounted on it.
Why build your own rotisserie instead of buying one?
Some people would say,I don't need a rotisserie or I'll buy a rotisserie. I would rather spend the time on my car instead of building a rotisserie!
First of all,you need a rotisserie for reasons stated above!
Secondly, most of us are restoring ourselves because we can't afford all the labor costs, (labor costs can easily double or triple the expense)! So why waste funds buying a rotisserie when the difference in cost by building a rotisserie yourself can be"invested in your car" not expensive tools!
Also, it does not take a great deal of time to build your own rotisserie, especially with this guide in your hands!
The rotisserie will work on convertibles also, but does require an added brace in the door jambs for support because of the lack of a roof.

Does your Mustang need a new *headliner*?
Just before taking off the rotisserie, turn your Mustang upside down and install your new headliner!!
I did this and it sure made the job "easier"!
